Maurine Molak

Co-Founder, David's Legacy Foundation & ParentsSOS

In 2016 Maurine and her family formed David's Legacy Foundation after their 16-year old son David died by suicide. David struggled with social media and online gaming addiction and was the victim of cyberbullying the last few months of his life.  Since his death Maurine has advocated in Texas for cyberbullying legislation known as “David’s Law”, suicide prevention and digital citizenship requirements in schools.  In 2023 she testified in the Texas Senate and House for social media reform through the SCOPE Act.  In 2024 Maurine co-founded ParentsSOS an education initiative by survivor parents who are advocating for federal legislation to protect kids online, specifically the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA).
