Kaliya Young

Founding Partner, Identity Woman in Business

Kaliya Young is a public interest technologist, known as Identity Woman. She co-founded the Internet Identity Workshop and has spent the last 20 years supporting the emergence of an identity layer of the Internet that empowers people. She graduated from the first cohort of the Identity Management and Security Master’s program at the University of Texas at Austin. Her thesis (which became a book), Domains of Identity, is a comprehensive framework explaining the domains of identity where personal data ends up in databases. She is the Founding Partner of a consultancy focused on strategic development of trust ecosystems. She co-authored the first online course on decentralized identity. Most recently, she was awarded a Summer of Protocols grant to study the Internet Engineering Task Force.
